Wasa told to open choked sewerage

By Our Staff Correspondent

MULTAN, Aug 5: City District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar has directed the Water and Sanitation Authority (Wasa) to open choked sewerage pipelines within two days so that inundated city streets and roads can be cleared.

Visiting various areas of the city on Sunday, Mukhtar cancelled Wasa staff’s leaves and directed Wasa authorities to prepare an emergency plan to solve the sewerage problem. He told Wasa to inform people about reasons behind the closure of these sewerage lines.

Wasa Managing Director Dr Javed Iqbal told the nazim that staff was trying to solve the problem at the earliest.
