RIYADH, Aug 4: Saudi Arabia on Saturday beheaded a Pakistani national convicted of drug trafficking, the interior ministry said. The man was executed in the eastern city of Dammam for smuggling heroin into the kingdom, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
The execution takes to 118 the number of people beheaded in Saudi Arabia so far this year, passing the total of 113 for the whole of 2000, which was the highest in recent years.—AFP
