QUETTA, Aug 4: Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, chief of his own faction of Jamhoori Watan Party, has joined the All-Party Democratic Movement (APDM) following talks with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a press conference at the Bugti house on Saturday, he said that on Friday night PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif had telephoned from London requesting him to join the opposition alliance.
He said the JWP would cooperate with the APDM to restore civilian rule in the country.
He said that during the telephonic conversation Nawaz Sharif promised that elements involved in the killing of innocent Baloch would be given exemplary punishments if the PML-N government was formed after the general election.
He said that the JWP was reorganised on May 13 and the national council reaffirmed to follow the policy determined by the late Nawab Akbar Bugti to get rights for the federating units.
The JWP chief said that the situation had changed after the Supreme Court verdict reinstating the Chief Justice and the party could not remain aloof from the democratic forces.
He said the JWP would observe a black day on the first anniversary of Nawab Bugti on August 26.
Mr Talal said that Juma Bugti and Mubarak Bugti were being tortured by the Anti-Terrorist Force.
He demanded that the government should take action against the security forces for the gross violation of human rights.
It may be mentioned that the other group of JWP, led by Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, has rejected the proposal of joining the APDM and ARD.
Jamil Bugti said that the JWP would prefer to struggle jointly with Baloch nationalists to accomplish Nawab Bugti’s mission.
