QUETTA: Relief for flood victims

Published August 5, 2007

QUETTA, July 4: Director-General of the Islamic Help Allama Muhammad Khalilur Rehman Qadri has said the non-issuance of no objection certificates to NGOs by the government was the main hurdle for relief organisations to provide assistance to flood victims in affected districts of Balochistan.

At a press conference on Saturday, he said the government and the media failed to highlight the damages caused by the flood, owing to which the international donor agencies did not play their due role in helping the affected people.—Correspondent
