KARAK, Aug 4: People of the Khurram Mohammadzai and Bahadarkhel localities blocked the main Bannu-Kohat road in protest against frequent power outages in the Banda Daud Shah tehsil here the other day.

They said that a powerful windstorm had uprooted a number of electricity poles near Latambar five days ago, but the electricity supply had not been restored, greatly inconveniencing people during intense summer heat.

Threatening to hold more protests if power supply was not immediately restored, they said that power disruption had also created water shortages in the area.

Later, the protesters dispersed after being assured about restoration of power supply by the SHO of the Khurram Mohammadzai police station.
