Traders’ strike today

By Our Correspondent

TIMERGARA, Aug 3: A complete strike will be observed to protest against what traders termed police inaction after they failed to arrest bandits who had deprived local traders of Rs20 million almost a month ago.

The dacoity incident in which two local traders had been robbed occurred on July 7.

The strike was called by the Lower Dir peace committee that fixed Aug 3 as the deadline for the arrest of the criminals.

The peace committee held a meeting here on Friday that was presided over by the Chairman Dir Lower peace committee and former Amir of the JUI-F in Lower Dir Maulana Fazalullah. The meeting was also attended by local political leaders and representatives of traders’ union.
