RAWALPINDI, Aug 2: The station house officer (SHO) and three other police officials of the Airport police were granted bail in a car-lifters’ escape case here on Thursday.

Civil Judge Afzal Saqib Khandwa granted bail to

SHO Tanveer Javaid Waraich, assistant sub-inspector Sardar Mohammad and constables Azam and Nauman against a surety bond of Rs50,000 each.

The Westridge police had arrested Sardar Mohammad, Azam and Nauman on Saturday after three alleged car-lifters - Imran Saleem alias Goga, Raja Hassan Qamar and Haji Nawaz - escaped from their custody while being taken to Attock in a police van.

The SHO was taken into custody later on the charge of his involvement in the case.
