MIRPURKHAS, Aug 2: An unannounced loadshedding has been badly affecting the patients of Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas which has also resulting in complications in some emergency cases, requiring urgent surgeries.

Civil surgeon Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti said this while talking to journalists at his office on Thursday.

He said the hospital, which receive electricity from Hesco city feeder has to face a daily loadshedding for long durations.

He said the Hesco's engineer, Habibullah Khilji, had sent them a letter apprising them that due to the importance of the Civil Hospital the city feeder has been exempted from loadshedding.

Dr Roshan said that despite this letter the loadshedding was continued which has made matter worse for hospital administration.

When the power goes off all the surgeries has to be stopped which caused hardships to patients and in some cases their lives were at risk, he said.

On Thursday at 10.30am power supply was suspended in city feeder which was restored at 1.35pm with the result that operations of 12 patients has to be suspended and same was the case with gynaecology and surgical wards, he said.

He asked that the Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation (Hesco) should fix the time of loadshedding in city feeder and a letter should be issued in writing regarding loadshedding schedule so that they could run hospital smoothly.
