KARACHI: KU senate election results announced


KARACHI, Aug 2: The Registrar, University of Karachi, Prof Rais Ahmed Alvi, on Thursday announced the results of elections to the university senate from the constituency of teachers.

The candidates who have been elected are: Dr Anila Amber Malik, Dr M. Abid Hasnain, Dr Anjum Bano, Ms Saba Masood, Tanveer Abbas, Dr Faiyaz Hussain Madani, Dr Majid Mumtaz, Asrar Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr M. Harris Shoaib, Ms Masooma Rizvi Mir, M. Shahid Qureshi, and Farhat Hussain Khan.

Submission dates


The controller of examinations, University of Karachi, on Thursday announced that examinations forms and fees for the Diploma in Laryngology and Otolaryngology Part-I and II annual examinations 2007 would be accepted from August 4 to 15, 2007.

The original fee is Rs2,200, including Rs50 as sports fee.

Meanwhile, the KU examinations department on Thursday notified the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases, Karachi, that examination forms for the Postgraduate Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD) annual examinations 2007 would be accepted from August 4 to 13, 2007.

The original fee is Rs2,500, including Rs50 as sports fee.

‘Absent’ students results


The Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, (BSEK) has opened four counters to rectify the errors pertaining to those students who were shown absent in the result for the SSC Annual Examination 2007 for Class X Science Group.

This was announced by the BSEK controller of examinations on Thursday.

He said that two of the counters will be for female candidates and the remainder for males.

The parents of the affected students had earlier mobbed the board office premises.—PPI/APP
