Traders to protest against outages

Published August 2, 2007

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 1: Traders and other business organisations on Wednesday decided to take out a protest rally on Aug 4 against Faisalabad Electric Supply Company for the increasing loadshedding.

Traders alleged that the Fesco authorities had extended power suspension schedule just to cover line losses.

Talking to newsmen, they said power supply remained suspended from five to seven hours in the city and eight to nine hours in villages daily.

They said the company staff used to suspend power supply on the pretext of repair and maintenance.

They said Fesco deputy manager (operation) and assistant manager of city sub-division did reside in Wapda colony here and daily go to their hometowns after office time.

As a result there was no one to take interest in the supply of electricity and repair work.
