10 arrested for theft, carrying illegal arms

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: The local Police have arrested 10 persons and recovered valuables worth thousands of rupees and illegal arms and ammunition from their possession.

A spokesman for the police here on Wednesday said four pistols, two rifles, a dagger, 109 rounds, five wine bottles and stolen valuables worth Rs140,000 were recovered.

These alleged criminals were arrested from different areas of the capital, he added.

The Kohsar police have arrested Ansar Maseeh for his alleged involvement in theft and recovered valuables worth Rs20,000 from him.

During routine patrolling the police arrested Shear Ahmed and Zafar Ali for carrying illegal weapons and recovered a dagger, a 32-bore pistol and two rounds from him. The Golra police have arrested Khalid Mehmood and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs120,000 from him.

The police also arrested Ghulam Mohammad and recovered valuables worth Rs15,000 from him.

The Shahzad Town police have recovered a rifle and 60 rounds from the possession of Sayeed Khan and arrested him, while an accused Shoukat was arrested by Barakhu police, a 12-bore repeater gun and 10 cartridges were also recovered for him.

The Tarnol police have arrested Ziaul Haq for carrying a 32-bore pistol and six rounds.

The Margalla police have arrested Mohammad Arshad for carrying five bottles of liquor.

Separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are in progress.
