HYDERABAD: Wasa cuts illegal water connections

HYDERABAD, July 29: A special recovery team of Hyderabad Development Authority raided some plazas, garment factories, private hospitals and other commercial units and disconnected illegal water supply connections and confiscated motors.

The action was taken over the directive of DG HDA Altaf Hussain Memon.

According to the announcement by Wasa, the team on Friday and Saturday paid surprise visits to Raja Bazaar unity No.12 and Unit No.11 and other units of Latifabad and disconnected water supply to Karachi Pakwan Centre, Al-Rehan Arcade, Mohammad Ali complex, Waris Palace, Hassan Residency, a garment factory and other private enterprises and checked water connection documents and bills.

It found that most of the water connections were illegal, while huge amount of dues were in outstanding.Wasa has warned the consumers to clear their dues without any delay otherwise legal action would be taken against them.

Senator’s services lauded

Latifabad-7 union council Naib Nazim Mohammad Aslam Zariwala has paid tributes to Senator Ghaffar Qureshi, the political secretary to Sindh chief minister, for serving PML workers and never indulging in negative politics.

Addressing a news conference at the local press club on Saturday he also appreciated services of PML district president Mir Sher Mohammad Khan Talpur, general secretary Qari Mushtaq, information secretary Sharif Khan Koti for strengthening district chapter of the party

He said Senator Ghaffar Qureshi always kept party workers’ interests supreme.

He said PML district chapter had completed organisations in the district in which senior party workers had been given preference.
