KARACHI, July 28: Three-year-old chestnut filly Rebecca is tipped to put up a bold show by claiming days’ honours in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
Rebecca’s current form and fitness has enhanced her chances of overcoming the field in the fourth race to be run over five furlongs.
She had a win and three successive good second places under her belt and in all probability looks certain to make amends.
Chestnut Big Brother and filly Love Pakistan are the two form horses among twelve contenders who have the ability to pose her serious challenge.
Four-year-old chestnut filly Kat Mandu seems to pick up spoils in the feature event which is the seventh race on the programme. She was on course for hat trick in the last outing but her winning run was interrupted by Gwenivare.
She is likely to be chased by filly The Princess Arab and colt The Concord for the places.
Mares Voo Doo Doll and Sonu Love Mani come in the reckoning in the sixth race. The former if tried by connection, can edge out the latter. Jack In The Box and Khyber are likely to complete the board.
The top division of class VII should end in a blaze of glory for either filly Sugar Sweet or colt Quince from the stables of Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara. The punters will have to wait and see as to which of the two is on job.
They are likely to be challenged by Harry Potter and Thanks Naeem.
Four-year-old bay colt Shah Sawar may rein supreme in the opener provided he overcomes Raaz and Hamza Prince. Horse to be watched is mare Priceless who can win any time if allowed to run on merit.
Seven-year-old bay mare Paidagiree look poised to rule the next race by edging past Fascinate and Mrs. Jack. Eager Saint may also pose some resistance.
Three-year-old chestnut colt On Looker is our fancy and likely to cross the finishing post ahead of rivals in the third race.
A card of seven races has been worked out for the day. The first race gets into action at 1.30pm.
