ISLAMABAD, July 28: US ambassador-designate to Pakistan, Ms Anne W. Patterson, will present her credentials to President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday, diplomatic sources said.

The occasion acquires significance as this would be the first contact at this level as tensions peak between Islamabad and Washington, first due to the hostile statements by top US officials hinting at possibility of unilateral military strike inside Pakistan, and now the bill adopted by the US Congress. —Q.A.
