WANA, July 28: The political administration of South Waziristan Agency has approved the construction of Kanigoram link road and directed the highway authorities of SWA section to start work on the project immediately.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Mohammad Yahya Akhunzada, assistant political agent of the SWA Ladha sub-division, at his office on Saturday. It was attended by highway SWA section executive engineer Pir Mohammad Khan Mehsood, officials of nation building departments and contractors.

The meeting took stock of the ongoing development projects in the Ladha sub-division of South Waziristan Agency.

The assistant political agent asked the contractors to complete the schemes in time and according to specification within the available resources. He warned that strict action would be taken against the contractors found responsible for the sub-standard construction work.

With the construction of the Kanigoram link road, the distance between Ladha and Wana would be decreased by about eight kilometres. Moreover, the road would pass through the safe area.—APP
