MIRPURKHAS, July 27: DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has directed the officers to take action against black marketers and dealers selling spurious pesticide and fertilisers.

This he said while presiding over a meeting on Friday which was attended by DPO Abdullah Shaikh, EDO revenue Abdul Rahim Soomro, EDO agriculture Ghulamullah Jarwar, representatives of farmers, fertilisers and pesticide dealers.

The DCO directed the officers to visit dealers’ shops along with police and revenue department officers, obtain samples of pesticide and fertilisers and send them to laboratory.

He asked the officers to keep record of sold fertilisers by examining warehouses of companies and no inefficiency would be tolerated in this regard.

The EDO Agriculture Ghulamullah Jarwar said the shops of dealers were raided and 35 samples of fertilizers and 45 of pesticides were obtained for test.

He said one sample of pesticide and four of fertilisers were found substandard and spurious while cases had been lodged with the concerned police which were being prosecuted in local courts. He advised the farmers to take receipt from dealers on purchasing agriculture pesticides.
