PESHAWAR, July 26: The NWFP Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee has taken a serious note of irregularities in the issuance of computerised number plates for automobiles by the excise and taxation department and has formed a committee to probe the matter.
A press release issued here on Thursday said the meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Speaker NWFP Assembly Bakht Jehan Khan.
The committee raised concerns over the issuance of contracts for manufacturing of number plates and directed the probing team to also look into the matter and submit a report.—APP
