UPPER DIR, July 25: The relief goods announced by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for the Banria flood victims were distributed in Nashnamal on Wednesday. The prime minister had announced a relief package for the victims, including Rs100,000 as compensation for the family of each deceased and Rs15,000 to those whose houses had collapsed.

Five truckloads of relief goods reached the area while one truck could not reach it due to developing a mechanical fault on the way.

The district government had established a tent village for the affected families at Nashnamal to provide them temporary shelter. A medical camp has also been set up. A number of local and non-governmental organisations had also set up relief camps and brought relief goods for the victims.

The provincial relief commissioner visited the tent village at Nashnamal and reviewed arrangements made there.
