Four die, six injured in clash

OKARA, July 24: Four people, including brothers and cousins, were killed and six injured in a clash between two groups over a minor issue here on Tuesday night. Most of the dead and injured were close relatives .

The clash between the Christian community groups in Muhalla Dera Usman took place following a dispute between children.

One of the groups comprising over a dozen people used knives and other sharp-edged weapons. As a result, brothers Sabir and Babar (sons of Riaz), Kashif s/o Younus and Amir s/o Robin died of multiple stab wounds and excessive bleeding before getting any medical assistance.

Four of the injured - brothers Younus, Riaz and Robin and Asif - were in critical condition. At the time of filing this report at 12.15am on Wednesday, they were being operated upon at DHQ Hospital.

The condition of Yasir and Nasir was stated to be serious.

Two of the assailants were identified as Federic and Solicitor, with the later arrested by police. The exact number of assailants was not yet confirmed.

A large number of area people flocked the hospital after the clash.
