By Rashid Javed

ABBOTTABAD, July 24: The Ayub Medical Complex Hospital is facing a shortage of medical officers and equipment. The pathology laboratory of the hospital is also working without a qualified microbiologist and biochemist.

The hospital is region’s biggest health organisation in public sector that provides medical facilities to the people of Hazara, the Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir.

At present, different departments are functional in the complex, including medical, surgical, neurosurgery, heart, orthopaedic, ENT, burn, skin and Gynae. Two new departments, cancer and sugar/blood pressure, have recently started working.

The hospital has a capacity to accommodate more than 1200 patients and provides OPD facility to around 400 to 500 patients daily.
