KARACHI, July 24: City Naib Nazim Nasrin Jalil on Tuesday said that all possible efforts are being made to run the city government-controlled Darul Aman in Federal B Area in an organised manner and to improve its working.

In this regard a social welfare committee consisting of City Council members will soon be formed to have an appraisal of the Darul Aman. The committee will submit its report to the naib nazim and, if need be, to the City Council also.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting with Ms Jalil in the chair. The meeting was also attended by CPLC chief Sharfuddin Memon, deputy chief Shaukat A. Suleman, Central Zone chief Wasim Z. Qadri and Community Development Officer Zarfishan.

The naib nazim was informed that women sent on court orders are lodged in the Darul Aman, which was transferred to the city government 10 months ago.

The CPLC chief said the entire ration requirement for the Darul Aman is being managed by the CPLC Central.

He said the CPLC will continue its efforts to improve the Darul Aman in collaboration with the city government. He said others should also come forward to play their part in this regard.

Ms Jalil congratulated the CPLC on the safe recovery of explosive material near Park Towers in Clifton recently.—APP
