Imran reference hearing on 26th

ISLAMABAD, July 23: The Election Commission of Pakistan has set a date for hearing the reference filed against Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan for July 26. Earlier the date of hearing was set for July 25, but it was extended for another day on the request of the respondent’s lawyer who sought the extension on the plea that his client was abroad and could not sign written statement and the power of attorney.

According to the EC spokesman, Hamid Khan, advocate, counsel for Imran Khan had submitted an application for postponement of hearing of the case from July 25 to July 26, on the ground that the respondent will arrive from London late on July 25 and as such will not be able to sign the written statement and the power of attorney in time.—APP
