MIANWALI, July 23: In yet another case of crime against humanity, a gas cylinder blast at an illegally-built filling outlet on Mianwali-Talagang Road on Monday evening left four people injured.
The cylinder explosion was followed by a series of blasts that panicked the people in the vicinity.
Reports said one of the shopkeepers was refilling a 100-kilogramme cylinder which exploded. Soon many small cylinders lying scattered at the outlet also started bursting with thunderous noise, engulfing the shop with flames.
Ghulam Amir, the shop owner, and his servant Arif suffered critical burns while two customers, Matiullah and Mahmood Hassan, suffered bruises.
The TMA fire brigade reached the spot and brought the situation under control after sometime.
The injured were transported to the DHQ Hospital where, according to reports, no doctor was available to provide first aid to the victims. The paramedical staff attended to the injured at the emergency ward. Relatives of the injured people later expressed resentment over the unavailability of the doctors.
