MQM’s role criticised

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 23: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf would not allow terrorist organisations and extremist forces to impose their will on political parties. Speaking at a press conference at the local press club on Monday, provincial consultant of the party Irfan Ali alleged that some political organisations that enjoyed the backing of the government were responsible for the current political crisis as they wrongly tried to strengthen the hands of anti-people rulers.

Criticising the role of the MQM during the lawyers’ movement, owing to which dozens of innocent people were killed in Karachi on May 12, the PTI leader said that the MQM leadership had tried to sabotage the struggle.

Mr Irfan said that in a democratic and civilised society the formation of government was made through votes that did not accept violence to force the people to accept the ideology of a particular political party.
