ISLAMABAD, July 23: At the request of the Sindh government, Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Qazi Muhammad Farooq on Monday announced postponement of the by-election in constituency NA-249, Karachi-XI, scheduled for Aug 25, due to the law and order situation prevailing in the city.
Owing to the resignation of Aamir Liaquat Hussain, MNA and minister of state for religious affairs, the earlier notification for the by-election has been withdrawn. —PPI
