Cash, goods worth Rs7.5m looted from factory

KASUR, July 22: Dacoits looted valuables worth Rs 7.5 million from a ginning and pressing factory in the early hours of Sunday morning at Haji Farid Road.

The factory, established in 1936 by the leading traders Dheengra Brothers, was looted by 14 dacoits, including a woman, at about 4.30 am.

The dacoits carrying pistols and guns tortured the watchman. Later, they broke into the factory office and looted cash worth Rs 4.25 million, four cheque books, sales tax record, account registers, computer and other valuables.

They also collected from the godown cotton seed, canola oil, electric motors, cotton and other raw material. On a tip off, the police reached the spot and arrested two dacoits. — Correspondent
