Lal Masjid operation: nazim quits

By Our Correspondent

JHANG, July 22: A union council nazim of Ratta Matta has resigned from his office in protest against the Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa operation.

Syed Muhammad Ali Imran Shah, a close relative of Federal Environment Minister Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, in his resignation letter addressed to the Jhang district nazim said that massacring of innocent youth and women had forced him to quit his office.

He said earlier Gen Musharraf had humiliated our national hero Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and now he had his hands stained with the blood of madressah students.
