Robbers kill retired major

MARDAN, July 22: At least three persons, including a retired major, were killed in different areas of the Mardan district.

In the first incident, a retired major, Mohammad Saeed, was shot dead by unidentified robbers when he resisted a robbery bid in Defence Colony on Saturday night.

City Police Station registered an FIR against unidentified robbers on the report of victim’s brother Major (retd) Mohammad Salim Khan.

In the second incident, a man was axed to death allegedly by his neighbour over a petty dispute in the Jangah village, 30 kilometres from here.

Relatives of Javed lodged an FIR with the Lund Khwar Police Station against the accused.

In the third incident, Amjad Khan was killed by unidentified assailants when he was irrigating his farm in the Rustam village.
