DADU: Drain breach floods villages

DADU, July 22: A 100- foot wide breach occurred in Main Nara Valley drain at RD 121 in Johi taluka on Sunday, inundating Sohabat Leghari and Valwani Jamali villages.

The officials of MNV drain and villagers were jointly trying to plug the breach, which was continuing till the filling of this report. The villagers were busy in shifting their family members to safer places.

RALLY: Sacked primary teachers of 1998 took out a rally in Dadu on Sunday for their reinstatement.

Led by Mumtaz Surhio, Shabbir Bughio and Zubair Palah, they marched on different roads and staged demonstration outside the local press club.

They said that around 300 teachers were appointed after clearing written and oral tests, but their services were terminated without any notice after six months.

They appealed to the Sindh chief minister to take notice of the matter.

BODY FOUND: Johi police found a body of an unknown man, aged 35, from Main Nara Valley drain near Johi on Sunday. The body was removed to Taluka Hospital Johi for autopsy.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Mohammad Hashim Thaheem, said that deceased had died at least 4 to 5 days back.

Edhi volunteers buried the body in local graveyard.

SUICIDE: A woman Shahida, 32, wife of Hussain Jokhio committed suicide by taking pesticide in Chhanno Shahabad Mohalla here on Sunday.

Prior to consumption of pesticide, she exchanged hot words with her husband Hussein Jokhio over some domestic issues.
