LARKANA: Govt slated over poorflood relief activities

By Our Correspondent

LARKANA, July 22: Activists of the Awami Tehrik took out a procession in Qambar on Sunday to protest against the government’s failure in looking after the flood-affected people.

Nisar Buriro and Hassan Chandio led the procession which, after marching on the main thoroughfares of the town, ended outside the press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Buriro and Mr Chandio alleged that the flood victims were not receiving adequate food, water and medicines in relief camps.

They called for withdrawal of a case registered against 150 flood-hit people who had staged a demonstration a week ago against government’s failure in providing adequate food and others necessary things to the affected people in the camps.

MURDER: The Mahi Makol police on Sunday found a beheaded body at paddy crop near the tomb of Hakim Shah.

Signs of torture were visible on entire body, police said and suspected that the killers had taken away his head after torturing him to death. Further investigations were continuing.

An FIR was lodged against five unknown people by Mohammad Paryal, the maternal uncle of the deceased, with Mahi Makol police station.
