QUETTA, July 21: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Yousuf, Balochistan Assembly’s Deputy Speaker Aslam Bhootani and PPP leader Sadiq Ali Umrani on Saturday welcomed the reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary by the Supreme Court.

Commenting on the apex court’s verdict, the chief minister said the government believed in the supremacy of the Constitution. He said the verdict had been accepted by all segments of society. The deputy speaker said the decision came as a ray of hope and would help restore the rule of law in the country.

“The historic decision is victory of justice and truth that enhanced the court’s honour,” Mr Bhootani said. The PPP leader said that with the reinstatement of the Chief Justice the country had entered in a new judicial era.
