PPP activist shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI, July 21: An activist of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was shot dead here late on Saturday night. Police said Ghulam Murtaza, 40, who worked for a transport company, was standing in front of his house in Khuda ki Basti in Surjani Town when two unknown gunmen on a motorbike shot him and sped away. He died on the spot and his body was shifted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, two bodies were found floating in the sea near the fish harbour in Docks police limits. The bodies were sent to a hospital for identification and autopsy.

A 16-year-old boy, Islam Jamil died after being hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks near Drigh Road railway station, police said.
