MANSEHRA: Tremors felt in Northern Areas

By Nisar Ahmed

MANSEHRA, July 21: A mild intensity earthquake, measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, jolted Mansehra, Balakot, Battagram, Kohistan and Allai at 9:53am on Saturday. People, mostly women and children, rushed out of their houses for safety.

According to Meteorological Department in Peshawar the earthquake was an aftershock of the October 8 earthquake and its epicentre was 200 kilometres in Northeast of Peshawar in Hazara region.

No casualty was reported but the Thakot-Allai Road was blocked because of the landsliding, suspending traffic between Allai and the rest of the country.
