KHAIRPUR, July 20: An alleged robber was killed and his two accomplices injured in Pir Jo Goth area on Thursday evening. Fazal Hussain was on his way on motorcycle to Sikandarabad village when three armed men intercepted him and robbed him of his motorbike.

He informed his relatives about the incident through cellphone after which the villagers tried to catch the accused near the Sim Nullah which resulted in an exchange of gunfire.

Niaz Hussain Suhag was killed on the spot and the other two, Umed Ali and Pervez Suhag received injuries.

Fazal Hussain has lodged an FIR with Pir Jo Goth police station. Meanwhile, relatives of Niaz Hussain and local villagers staged a demonstration in Pir Jo Goth.

They told journalists that no incident of robbery had occurred and the deceased was innocent. They demanded an inquiry.
