Health budget raised

PESHAWAR, July 19: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has said the provincial government has raised the annual health budget from Rs300 million to Rs3.50 billion. He said this while addressing a public gathering at the inauguration of a dispensary at Naranji in Swabi district on Thursday.

He said that big hospitals would be set-up in all districts of the province whereas in Peshawar billions of rupees have been earmarked for the construction of kidney and heart hospitals.

The health minister said that in a bid to provide relief to the masses the provincial government is not only working on friendly policies for the poor but is also struggling for the rights of the province.—APP
