KARACHI, July 18: The accountability court No III on Wednesday reissued a non-bailable warrant for the arrest of Daryus Cyrus Minwala, general sales manager of the Cathay Pacific Airways, blamed by the National Accountability Bureau for causing a big loss to the Pakistan International Airlines in the aircraft scam case.
Cyrus Minwala along with a former director of PIA’s Corporate Planning, Rashid Hassan, and a private beneficiary, Pervaiz Hussain, are facing a reference filed by NAB in the accountability court for their alleged involvement in purchasing used and worn-out aircraft, causing a huge loss to the national flag carrier.
Accused Rashid Hassan, who is on interim bail, was present in the court of Judge Mohammad Ishaque Memon, while the other accused, Pervez Hussein, did not appear on medical grounds. The court fixed Aug 12 for the next hearing of the case.
