Toll tax on link road bridge abolished

PESHAWAR, July 16: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani on Monday announced that the Frontier Highway Authority’s toll tax on the Kashi Bridge on the Bannu link road had been abolished.

Relevant instructions were issued here at the Frontier House during a meeting with a delegation from Bannu that was led by MNA Qari Gul Azim. The delegation included union council nazims and councilors.

The chief minister urged the elected representatives to respond positively to the people’s needs in a responsible manner. He made it clear that problems could not be solved by emotionalism or mere slogans, saying that they should identify those who were using such methods to mislead people.

Urging the delegation to distinguish between friends and foes, he said that all social sectors, including education, health, roads, and sanitation and irrigation, were being transformed according to the people’s wishes. He attributed the hike in property prices to the rapid pace of development in Bannu.

Members of the delegation thanked the chief minister for taking keen interest in solving their problems and assured him of their full cooperation.—APP
