Published July 17, 2007

KARACHI, July 16: The city government, denying its involvement in the pulling down of hoardings on Sharea Faisal opposite the Hotel Regent Plaza and on M.A. Jinnah Road with giant-size cranes, has said that it was done by the Karachi Cantonment Board/ Station Headquarters Karachi.

Referring to an article of the Karachi Notebook published on Monday, a city government spokesman said the stretch of Sharea Faisal from Avari Towers up to FTC Flyover and the M.A. Jinnah Road portion came in the jurisdiction of Karachi Cantonment Board and Station Headquarters and the permission for installation of hoardings on these portions was granted by them.
