LAHORE, July 15: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shows laziness in giving cash prizes and pensions to cricketers.
PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf had announced that the board would give Rs50,000 to winners and other cash prizes to runners-up of regional inter-club tournaments in June. As the tournaments are about to get over in the country, the winning clubs are still waiting for the prizes.
The PCB has also failed to renew central contracts of national cricketers which it had suspended in April and fixed the date of July 1 for the renewal.
Moreover, pensions of former Test cricketers could not be released even after two-month break. The scheme was launched in April and the players have so far received only the first-month pension.
On one hand the PCB shows callous attitude towards the cricketers, on the other it gave Rs100,000 to Jalil Khan just for scrutinizing cricket clubs.
