Rally against Jamia Hafsa operation

SAHIWAL, July 15: Leaders and activists of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N) on Sunday took out a rally against the government for killing teachers and students in the Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa operation.

Starting from Jamia Sharia, the rally marched through Pakpattan Chowk, Pul Bazaar, Deepalpur Bazaar, Pakpattan Bazaar, Sadar Bazaar, Railway Road and terminated at Jogi Chowk.

The rally was led by Punjab JUI (F) Information Secretary Mufti Muhammad Usman, MMA and PML-N leaders Amjad Rashid, Abdul Razzaq Mujahid, Mian Ejaz Kamiana, Iqbal Wajid, Qari Abubakr Siddique, Rana Ahmed Shehzad and others.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders said that the blood of Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi and others would not go waste. They demanded a judicial probe into the killings of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa.

VISIT: Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool will visit the city on Monday (today) to lay the foundation stone of the Sahiwal University building.

The university will be built at a cost of Rs474.9 million.

The governor will also hold an open court at the Government Comprehensive High School.
