KHAIRPUR: Feuds claim two lives

Published July 16, 2007

KHAIRPUR, July 15: Two people were killed and two others were injured when their rival groups attacked them with firearms in identical incidents on Sunday.

Reports said that eight armed people fired on Niaz Ali Manglo, 13, and his brother, Abdul Razzaq Manglo, 16, on the Gambat-Agra road when they were going to Murad Manglo village in a wagon. Niaz Ali died on the spot and his brother sustained injuries.

Manglo tribesmen took to streets as soon as they heard about the incident and blocked the Razidero-Gambat road for about four hours by torching tyres in protest against police.

The attack was said to be an offshoot of a running dispute between Shaikh and Mangla tribes.

In another incident, two groups of Narejo tribe clashed with each other near Dandai Narejo village. Ghulam Shabbir Narejo, 30, was killed and Mohammad Aachar was injured.
