Taxi driver killed in accident

ISLAMABAD, July 14: A taxi driver was killed after a speedy truck rammed into his vehicle here on Saturday, police said. The dumper (PKR-936) was going to Peshawar from Rawalpindi when it crashed into the taxi (LHV-7055) parked along the roadside at 26 Number Chungi.

As a result, the taxi driver Mehmood, a native of Sargodha, who was sitting in the vehicle, died on the spot.

The dumper driver escaped from the scene leaving behind the vehicle which was impounded and taken to the Tarnol police station.

Police shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).
