Marriage dispute claims life

ATTOCK, July 14: A man was shot dead over a matrimonial dispute in Jand on Friday night. Zafar Iqbal reported to the police that he along with his brother Mulazim Hussian was travelling in a wagon when Sher Afzal Khan intercepted the vehicle and dragged his brother out and shot him dead.

Police have registered a case again the alleged murderer and are investigating. Meanwhile, a nephew of District Nazim Major (retired) Tahir Sadik Khan was among the commandos of the Special Services Group of the Pakistan Army who were injured during the Lal Masjid operation.

“The condition of Capt Saad Naseem is now stable,” Tehsil Municipal Officer Sardar Shabeer Khan said while talking to Dawn here on Saturday.

Sardar Shabeer, also an uncle of the injured officer, said that Capt Naseem had received serious wounds and was under- treatment at the Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi with other colleagues.

RECOVERED: The Pindigheb police have recovered a kidnapped man and arrested three alleged kidnappers in Maluwali village.

The police said Mohammad Saleem, Qari Abdul Malik, Usman Liaquat and Mohammad Adeel had abducted Zeeshan Naqvi from Golra in Rawalpindi in his car (IDB-64). On a tip-off, the police raided the house of Abdul Malik and arrested three of the accused.

However, Malik fled from the house leaving behind the kidnapped victim.

PROFITEERS FINED: The special price control magistrate, Fatehjang, imposed a fine of Rs6,600 on seven shopkeepers for profiteering.
