UPPER DIR, July 14: The tehsil council Dir unanimously approved its budget for the fiscal year 2007-08 with a total outlay of Rs27.9 million on Saturday. Convener Spin Khan presided over the session.

Khalilur Rehman, Nizamuddin, Jehan Yousaf, Sherzada and other members of the council complained that they were not taken into confidence in the preparation of the budget and, therefore, they had certain objections to certain proposals.

They said the tehsil nazim should work for the welfare of the area people.

The council members underlined the need for proper sanitation and cleanliness in the town. They urged the nazim to take the council members into confidence before tabling the budget in future.

Winding up the budget debate, tehsil Nazim Mohammad Nisar Khan Wardag thanked the council members for unanimously approving the budget.
