Altaf, Aziz discuss situation

KARACHI, July 14: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday praised the efforts made by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and members of the federal cabinet for trying to resolve the issue of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa peacefully.

According to a press release issued from London, the MQM chief had called the prime minister and discussed with him the situation after the Lal Masjid operation.

He said that although the government had tried it best to resolve the issue peacefully, the operation became unavoidable after Lal Masjid militants made Abdul Rashid Ghazi hostage.—Staff Reporter
