Four sent to jail in Lal Masjid case

RAWALPINDI, July 14: Special Judge Anti-Terrorist Court No 2 Sakhi Mohammad Kahot here on Saturday sent four persons, arrested in connection with Lal Masjid dispute, to Adiala Jail on judicial remand for fourteen days.

The arrested included Wajheeullah, a law graduate from Bahaudin Zakria University, Multan and an ex-student of Jamia Fareedia and an associate of Hashmat Habib advocate counsel of Maulana Abdul Aziz.

The four persons are facing cases in three different Police Stations of Islamabad.

In the case registered with PS Margalla on June 23, they are charged with trespass, kidnapping to confine a person in illegal custody, abetment, unlawful assembly, terrorism mainly with the abduction of Chinese massage workers.

A case registered with PS Abpara on May 21 charged them with kidnapping, assault and use of criminal force to deter public servants, obstructing public servants from discharge of duties, abetment, unlawful assembly, terrorism and mainly abduction of police officials.

They are also booked in CDs burning case with PS Kohsar on April 1 charging them with house trespass, criminal intimidation and hurling threat, unlawful assembly, abetment and terrorism.

The judge sent all of them on judicial remand and put off the hearing till July 28.

Meanwhile, Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui advocate moved a bail application of Khalid Khawaja in the ATC 2 court and the judge asked police to present complete record of the case registered with Aabpara Police Station in the court on July 18.
