FAISALABAD, July 13: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has established the career development centre and endowment fund secretariat for the human resource development.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmed said this while presiding over a meeting of deans and directors of different departments here on Friday.

He said the university produced educated, trained and inspired manpower to serve their mandate with a high sense of commitment.

The VC said that the career centre and the endowment fund would play a pivotal role in the academia and would acquire prestige as a model seedbed.

Out of Rs1.3 billion mega project, he said, three students’ hostels would be constructed at the postgraduate agricultural research station.

Besides, the construction of a sports complex and a swimming pool for women would also be completed soon to encourage students in sports activities.

He said the university had become a leading institution in terms of producing trained and highly motivated PhDs who were serving in and outside the country.

“Our achievements speak of the hard work and devotion which is being put in to bring this institution among the top universities in the region”, he said.

Owing to its performance, he said, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) was sponsoring 152 research projects of Rs116 million while 41 projects of Rs2.13 million were carried out under the research promotion.

In addition, the Pakistan Science Foundation was sponsoring 16 projects of Rs11 million.

The VC further said the university had held 162 seminars, conferences, workshops and symposia at national and international level during the current year.

He urged deans and directors to do their utmost to serve the nation and the institution as well.
