20 quit PPP posts over Sassui ‘vilification’

By Our Correspondent

THATTA, July 13: More than two dozen office-bearers and senior activists of People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) resigned from their posts on Friday in protest against what they called a mud-slinging campaign against MPA Sassui Palijo, her father Ghulam Qadir Palijo and the office-bearers of PPP Bachayo Action Committee.

Those who tendered resignations said in a letter to the president of Thatta chapter of the party, Arbab Wazir Ahmed Memon, that the pre-planned campaign for depriving Sassui Palijo of party ticket in the next general elections and mud-slinging against her father had compelled them to resign.

They regretted that the rift within party ranks would ultimately benefit its opponents and pave the way for an easy win for the ruling PML-Q in the upcoming general election.

The president of PPP city ward-4, Allahdino Samoon, senior vice-president Naveed Keher, deputy general-secretary Zulfiqar Bhatti, finance secretary Sohail Baloch, office secretary Phul Mirbahar, Nizam Samoon, Iqbal Baloch, Altaf Shah, Sher Mohammad Gandhro, Salim Shaikh, Asghar Soomro and Mehdi Massan Baloch were among those who resigned.
