PESHAWAR: MMA urged to quit NWFP, Balochistan govts

PESHAWAR, July 13: A mosque Khateeb, Maulana Yousuf Quraishi, has urged the MMA leaders to quit Balochistan and NWFP governments.

He said that they (MMA leaders) could not avert operation against the mosques and seminaries and failed to protect innocent students of Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid.

Thousands of people in Mohabat Khan Mosque on Friday pledged by raising their hands that they would provide support to Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi and his family.

Responding to the call of Maulana Yousuf Quraishi, they said that on next Friday they would lodge an FIR against General Musharraf and four cabinet ministers for killing hundreds of students in Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid.

Others to be nominated in the FIR, they declared, will be PML leader Chaudhry Shujjat, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq.

The Khateeb asked the gathering whether they would be ready to support him to register an FIR at any police station in Peshawar, the people replied in the affirmative.

They said: “We are ready to go in procession to the police station to lodge an FIR against Musharraf and his associates”.

Lashing out at leaders of Wafaqul Madaris, the religious leader said they were equally responsible for killings of innocent students and the destruction of mosque.

“Leaders of Wafaqul Madaris will be equally answerable before Allah on the Day of Judgment as to why they had cancelled Jamia Hafasa’s affiliation and provided a chance to General Musharraf to launch a cruel operation against it.”—PPI
