KARACHI, July 11: Eight ships carrying palm oil and to load cement and molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side where seven ships, Amasis, APL Yokohama, Oel Spirit, Oel Trust to unload and load containers, Alexa-M to unload coal, Oriental Telip and Shemroad Hay, oil tankers were berthed.
Sailing was also active as seven ships, Viking Merlin, Mol Ability, Amasis, Oriental Telip, Haje Khereh, Asian Queen and Chemstar Brave departed, while APL Yokohama, Al-Mariyah and Oel Trust are due to sail out on Thursday.
A total tonnage of 65,529 tons comprising 12,994 tons of export tonnage including 4,717 tons of cement and 52,535 tons of export cargo was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: New Setokaze with 16,000 tons of palm oil, Afamia and Al-Abdullah to load cement, Wilma with project cargo and Iran Hesabi and Hyundai Sprinter with containers and Lady Jasmine to load 22,500 tons of molasses.
